Living Out Loud: A Night with Prof. Anita Hill

I vividly recall the day in 1991 when Anita Hill came into our national social consciousness. My father and I were virtually glued to the television as we watched the hearings, watching her being grilled by the confirmation committee. Yet, she remained steadfast and calm as she answered question after question. She was the epitome of grace under fire.  So you can imagine my excitement when Prof. Anita Hill, now a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, my soror, agreed to be the featured author at the second in-person Living Out Loud event, where discussed her book, BELIEVING: Our Thirty Year Journey to End Gender Violence.

The event was held at the newly renovated theatre at Rockland Community College and was in collaboration with my beloved Tau Gamma Zeta chapter sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and the House of A Custom Apparel, owned by my D9 brother, Lyndell Pittman. We were honored with the presence of the New York State Director of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, Wilhelmine Herard James and representatives of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated who came out in large numbers to support the event and have the opportunity to hear Prof. Hill speak. It was certainly a night to remember!
